343 Says Thank You To Master Chief Collection Purchasers In An Amazing Way

By AJ Hanson on 29/04/2024 21:51 UTC

Bonnie Ross of 343 Industries released a new blog post today thanking the "early adopters" of the Halo Master Chief Collection on Xbox One for sticking with the game and allowing 343 to use their feedback and critisicms to make the game better. Bonnie announced that the majority of matchmaking issues and other bugs have mostly been erradicated from the game and she was pleased to say that the re-adding of SWAT modes and the Halo: CE maps back into the collection has been a huge success so far.

She didn't stop there, however. She announced that the entire MCC experience has been humbling not only for her, but for 343 as a whole and that their fans need and deserve better of them. "As a token of our appreciation and to thank fans for the continued support and understanding..." Ross wrote "we will be offering the following items for free to anyone who has played The Master Chief Collection online since launch (11.11.14) through today (12.19.14)". Thats right, if you've played even an hour of online multiplayer, campaign, or single player missions you will be getting FREE STUFF.

Players can expect to recieve 1 month of Xbox Live Gold, an exclusive in game nameplate, and an exclusive in game avatar but they didn't stop there.

343 also dropped a huge bombshell, a new Halo 2 Anniversary map is coming to the Xbox One and Halo 3: ODST will also make its way to Xbox One. These will be free updates for anyone who has played the game through the above mentioned dates as well.

Development has just begun on the campaign for Halo 3: ODST and will be upgraded to 1080P resolution at 60 FPS. No word yet on whether it will get the full "anniversary" style treatment that Halo 2 recieved.

The classic Halo map Relic also makes its return in a future content update for the MCC.

"The satisfaction and joy of our fans is absolutely critical to everyone at 343 Industries" Bonnie concluded.

Here is hoping that 343 has learned its lesson and has many more exciting things to come!
