E3 has a problem. The City of Los Angeles, in its push to reacquire a franchise for the NFL, has proposed building a brand new stadium. The stadium, if approved, would begin construction before the E3 conference and would take out the West Wing of the convention center and exhibition hall currently used for the electronics conference. This would force E3 to move to another location for at least a year, if not permanently. Three places are somewhat close for a move to take place: San Diego, where Comic-Con is held; the Moscone center in San Francisco, and Las Vegas. If the Moscone Center has the space, it would be somewhat logical for E3 to move there to be closer to Apple and Silicon Valley, but a decision has not been made.
Capcom, meanwhile, has announced a press conference the day before Gamescom 2012. Capcom did not hold such a press conference at E3. The creator of Street Fighter has announced he will be at Gamescom, so part of the conference may be devoted to the next game of the storied franchise.
Other developers have not announced plans for Gamescom, which runs next month in Germany, so stay tuned to Lagspike.tv for more information as we learn of it.
