Funcom has released an investor report on the state of The Secret World.
Due to a Metacritic score of 72, the game is not selling like Funcom was hoping. Other factors also contributed to a falling stock price. However, the game is reaching a user score of 8.4 out of 10, which means people are still playing after the first free month of gameplay. Between the two scores, and sales, The Secret World will retain a larger community than Age of Conan.
Funcom is also moving to Steam with the game, which will increase sales. The in game store is hitting projections of revenue as well, which gives Funcom some optimistic news to go with some of the pessimism.
After 12 months, it looks as if Funcom would be willing to move the game towards Age of Conan's F2p model under the information given to investors. Because operating expenses of The Secret World is lower than Age of Conan, it is expected the game would remain profitable.
