Konami Gives the Green Light to Metal Gear Remake

A group of modders wishing to make a reboot of the original 1987 Metal Gear game, which launched one of the most loved video game series of all time, have been given the green light by Konami. Furthermore, the game will be completely free to play. The team, who go by the name ‘Outer Heaven’ (a subtly little homage for the fans) allegedly contacted Konami for fear of having a rather nasty legal battle on their hands. Instead, Konami gave the game their full backing with the provision that they do not use any copyrighted material for the purposes of marketing and promotion.
