Skylanders, a game that first brought toys to life, will be heading for San Diego Comic-Con for the first time in the game’s history, on 24th July. Fans who are attending San Diego Comic-Con will be the first in the world to be able to play Skylanders Trap Team™. This is the newest instalment to the Skylanders franchise. To celebrate this event, Activision Publishing, Inc. will give away more than $5000 in prizes to the best Skylanders costumes of the show. Fans will now have a chance to show off their creativity by dressing up as one of their favourite characters, such as Spyro, Stealth Elf, Eruptor, Kaos or any number of the characters from the Skylanders universe.
The costume contest will take place during the San Diego Comic-Con panel, “Skylanders: The Creative Process of Bringing Toys to Life,” where the members of the Skylanders team will share their insights into the development process of one of the world’s most loved and successful Toys-to-Lifevideo game franchises.
This panel will include people such as comic book writer Ron Marz (Green Lantern, DC vs. Marvel), famed voice of Kaos, Richard Horvitz (Invader Zim, Billy and Mandy), Activision’s Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing, John Coyne, and Toys for Bob’s Director of Toy and Character Development, I-Wei Huang.
