Microsoft, in its down earning report given to investors, revealed the future plans for Skype.
Skype, purchased by Microsoft for $8.5 billion in October, has been idly chugging along. However, since Microsoft's purchase, the use of Skype has doubled. Now, Microsoft announced Skype will be integrated into Outlook to add productivity to the new version of Office being released this year.
This will significantly increase Skype's presence in the workplace, as it will be a default install with the new Office. Microsoft sales of the XBox 360 dropping meant much of the revenue this past quarter came from either Skype or XBox Live subscriptions.
Lagspike.tv uses Skype to staff and broadcasters, and has used it quite often on broadcasts.
