Will the iPhone 5 Come out in September

Will the iPhone 5 be released in September, and will it have a different connection interface?

Rumors on numerous websites are pointing to two things with the iPhone 5. First, it will be coming out in September, along with a new iTouch and iPod. Nothing yet is out about a new iPad or the rumored 7" iPad to compete against the suddenly popular Google Nexus 7.

The second, bigger, issue seems to be a change in the connector interface on all three devices. Instead of the wide 30 pin connector they have been using until 2006, Apple seems to have adopted the mini-USB 19 pin connector. At least one website said a converter will be in the offing for those who will have incompatible devices, like external speakers, which would have mismatched connectors.

The news is Apple went to the smaller connector as part of a requirement by the EU to standardize on the 19 pin adaptors in phones and gadgets. Also, it allows Apple to put the plug for the headphones on the bottom of the phone instead of the top.
