Assassin's Creed Odyssey doesn't release until October 5th, but Ubisoft have revealed the post launch plans in an effort to drum up some hype for the upcoming entry in the RPG series.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey will take you on an adventure as a Spartan mercenary during the Peloponnesian war, in a world packed with a seemingly endless amount of things to do. Players who purchase the season pass either separately or as part of the Gold Edition will gain access to two major post-launch story campaigns and Assassin's Creed III Remastered. The III Remaster will also feature Assassin's Creed Liberation Remastered as well. Two games for the price of one (albeit an increased price) is a pretty sweet deal if you ask us!
Regardless of whether or not you purchase the season pass or Gold Edition, all players will receive a post launch content update in the form of The Lost Tales of Greece episodes. Daily and weekly in game events will also be available to all players as well.
AC: Odyssey's first major story-based content will be 'Legacy of the First Blade' which will "introduce players to the first person to ever use the Hidden Blade, forever altering history." The story based DLC will launch in December and will "reveal more about the history that led to the formation of the Assassins."
Spring 2019 sees the release of 'The Fate of Atlantis' story arc which will "set players against mythic creatures while they uncover the mysteries of the fabled sunken city of Atlantis."
Each of these story DLC's will launch as episodic adventures, with new episodes releasing about every six weeks.
The Assassin's Creed III Remaster on the other hand, includes not only the base AC III title, but all of the post-launch content as well. According the to blog post, "...Both remastered editions support 4K and HDR on PS4 Pro, Xbox One, and PC, as well as higher resolution textures, an improved lighting rendering system, and other graphical improvements."
It will be interesting to see how this remaster is received, especially since (for now) it seems to be locked behind the Gold Edition of the game. We'll see how it all shakes out in a matter of weeks, as Assassin's Creed: Odyssey launches October 5th on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
