During E3 Ubisoft unveiled the latest instalment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Unity. Since then a lot more information has come to surface about how much the development team at Ubisoft has been hard at work improving Assassin’s Creed for the new generation of consoles.
Assassin’s Creed Unity has been completely re-invented for the new generation, from the games re-imagined parkour system to the brand new four player co-op mode.
While the game has been re-invented for the generation of consoles Ubisoft’s Tony Key stressed that they haven’t forgotten about their loyal Assassin’s Creed fans on previous systems, Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot also added that the series would stay the course on last-gen consoles for the foreseeable future.
Taking place during the French Revolution, a period of turmoil for France in the late 1700s. It’s a time of radical upheaval that will end in the abolition of the French monarchy and the brutal deaths of tens of thousands of people.
Assassin’s Creed Unity’s re-invented parkour system allows you to navigate the environment like never before, putting you in control of every step as you careen through streets and across rooftops or as you nimbly descend into a darkened alleyway.
With the new co-op system players will be able to form their own brotherhood with 2-4 players seamlessly. The co-op missions exist alongside the single-player story have been crafted specifically for assassins to work in tandem as they take down targets throughout the city.
Ubisoft has also announced that you create your own Assassin right now which could be featured in an upcoming Assassin’s Creed Unity Ad.
