Batman The Telltale Series Eyes On

At E3 2016, we got the chance to go Eyes On with Telltale's latest offering; Batman The Telltale Series. After finding massive success with titles like The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and even Borderlands, Telltale set their sights on The Dark Knight. How does the game stack up against their other offerings? Let's find out!

The first thing that Telltale developers wanted to make very clear to us during their presentation was that this was just as much a story about Bruce Wayne as it was about Batman. They showed off two parts of the game (said to be the first 30 or so minutes) that featured gameplay as both Batman and Bruce Wayne. It's hard to describe the gameplay without spoiling too much of the story, so I can't say much on what I saw. What I CAN say, however is that this looks to be the best Telltale game to date. They spoke at length about how they upgraded the combat mechanics (which was a massive improvement since they did Game of Thrones) and it showed. Combat as Batman feels like a Batman title should. It's fast, fluid, and fun. The story line choices we saw made as both Batman and Bruce Wayne were interesting and I honestly can't wait to get in game and experience the different choices for myself.

Of everything I saw in the presentation, the Bruce Wayne interactions surprised me the most. There seem to be a massive sea of options to choose from as Bruce, and it looks like there could be more endings or ways for this game to end up than any previous Telltale game before.

No release date was given for the first episode, but they did say there are still targeting Summer 2016 for every platform. This includes PC, Xbox One, PS4, and mobile platforms. We will definitely have our eyes and hands on this one as soon as it's released.
