Blizzard Launches Official Warcraft 3 PTR

Well, this certainly brings back memories.

Blizzard have launched the first Public Test Realm for Warcraft III, its popular RTS game originally released in 2002.

According to a Blue Post on the official forums, the PTR will "feature balance changes for start locations and the difficulty of creep camps, as well as adjustments to item diversity." New textures for map clarity and other improvements are also hitting the PTR as we write this.

While it has been 15 years since Blizzard released Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, the RTS shows no signs of slowing down. In related news, it seems as if Blizzard is in the market to remaster some of its older titles, if a recent Blizzard job posting is to be believed. Diablo II and Warcraft III are ripe for an HD remaster and fans of both series have clamored for one for as long as we can remember, especially with the remastered Starcraft launching soon.

Its an interesting time for Blizzard, whos recent success with Overwatch and sustained success with staples Diablo III and World of Warcraft leave fans wondering "whats next?" Lucky for them, BlizzCon 2017 is just a few short months away.
