Goodbye Peter Dinklage, Hello Nolan North.
Bungie announced today that Nolan North will replace Peter Dinklage as the voice of Ghost in Destiny: The Taken King. More surprising, however was the fact that North has actually re-recorded all of Ghosts lines from the previous base game and expansion, effectively doing away with Peter Dinklage completely.
They really wanted me to put my stamp on it...They let me bring what I wanted to the role. You have to give it your own spin. For that reason, I specifically said I didn't want to hear anything that someone else had done, so that I didn't have some preconceived notion of what it has to be. Instead, I just gave it my stamp and let them direct me accordingly.
We wanted Nolan's version of Ghost to wake you up at level one and be with you all the way to level 40
He also confirmed that Ghosts script will remain the same, but that Dinklage's voicing will no longer be present in game.
Nolan also remained open to the possibility of returning as Ghost in the future, saying "I'm hoping to do this for years...if we get the chance to continue with the role." North replacing Dinklage is an interesting choice for sure. What do you think? Do you welcome the change or are you going to miss Peter Dinklage's interpretation? What other changes would you like to see Bungie make to Destiny going forward?
