The news media reports an 8 year old shot an elderly person after playing Grand Theft Auto. Constance Steinkuehler, who used to be 'video game czar' for the White House says no study or scientific evidence exists showing a link between violent video games and real violence.
"If you look at the state of research right now, there isn't a causal link between violent media and violent behaviors," said Steinkuehler.
Lagspike.tv has posted previous studies showing the supposed links are not true, and in fact playing violent video games actually reduce violence beyond the video game screen. Lagspike.tv believes in encouraging video game play for kids of all ages. We are glad a former member of the White House finally agrees with our past statements.
