With the Playstation Experience wrapping up just a few short days ago, they couldn't go away without some exciting news. While this year has seen a lot of older IP's getting a rebirth, none have been able to top this: Crash Bandicoot will return in 2017.
"Thats Right: Crash Bandicoot is back." Reads the announcement. The new compilation, the N. Sane Trilogy, was announced during E3 but no details were available at the time. What we're getting with this new trilogy is a remaster of the original trilogy of games, with updated graphics, sound, and more.
The remasters were apparently a bit of a tricky thing to create, as most of the original Bandicoot Code from Naughty Dog was unusable. The Playstation Team was then left with a choice of whether to proceed with the remaster from the original titles, or remake the games from the ground up.
They ended up playing all of the games themselves so that they could highlight what they loved about them in 2016 and also what made them so memorable for audiences back in the 1990s. Levels were rebuilt based on geometry from the original titles and modern touches were added in like a better save and checkpoint system.
A new trailer was released, and can be seen below. Are you looking forward to this remastered Bandicoot experience?
