By AJ Hanson on 29/04/2024 21:51 UTC

Just before E3 2015, World of Tanks creators WarGaming.Net revealed that its hit PC and Xbox 360 MMO World of Tanks is coming to Xbox One July 29th.

The Xbox One version will be the “best version of World of Tanks yet.” with a complete overhaul of almost every aspect of the games visuals. Upgraded HD tank models, map worlds, and draw distance all combine to make the most visually impressive and complete verison of World of Tanks yet.

The most surprising announcement was that the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions would be able to play together using a cross play feature. This not only applies to the game itself, but also to in game voice chat, keeping the social aspect of World of Tanks as alive as ever.

WarGaming also revealed to us that any of the content a player has from their Xbox 360 profile including research points, tanks, and upgrades/unlocks will carry over to the Xbox One version. There is also seamless integration between the two, so when you’re playing on your Xbox One, if you want to pop over to your Xbox 360 or want to recover your profile on a friends Xbox 360 or Xbox One, you can do so at any time. There is no fee to pay for this service as WarGaming is including it all for free with the download of the game.

World of Tanks will be available for pre-load on Xbox One starting July 10th, with a beta weekend July 11th-12th, and a full launch July 29th. You can catch our full interview with WarGaming below and get more information on all of WarGaming’s Products at their website.
