EA Admits That Battlefront Lacks Depth

The biggest complaint against Star Wars Battlefront has been about the content and depth of the game. Gamestop investors have also gone out and stated that they are disappointed with the sales. During the Nasdaq Investor Conference in Europe, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen has acknowledged that Battlefront was intentionally designed to be "accessible."

Star Wars Battlefront is a first-person shooter, but it is [one of] the only teen-rated first-person shooters. We had designed it to be a much more accessible product to a wide age group. So, an 8-year-old could play with his father on the couch, as well as a teenager or 20-year-old could play the game and enjoy it. It is more accessible. And for the hardcore, it may not have the depth that they wanted in the game.

- Blake Jorgenson, Electronic Arts CFO
Despite it's complaints, the game has become very popular and Jorgenson also said that he is confident that the game will reach its initial shipment target of 13 million copies. This is also based on the buzz around this months movie premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
