Earlier today, EA posted a notice on Origin announcing their brand new membership service for PC players by the name of Origin Access. For those familiar with the EA Access membership for Xbox One, Origin Access is a very similar subscription program but this time it’s (finally) offered to PC users.
Just like with EA Access, any Origin Access members gets access to “The Vault”, which is a set of games that are free to play for all members for as long as their membership is active. You will also get limited time access to play upcoming EA games before they are released, and you’ll get an extra 10% discount on new releases, expansions, pre-orders, DLC and points.
Origin Access is available in North America, Canada, the UK and Germany as of today, but we're still waiting on any official confirmation regarding when the membership will be opened to the rest of the world. Origin Access is only available for PC, however Mac users can also purchase Origin Access and still get the 10% discount.
Upon launch, there will be a total of 15 games available in the vault. This list consists of 14 EA titles, like Battlefield 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Sims 3, FIFA 15 and more, and one 3rd party game; This War of Mine by 11 bit Studios. The full list can be seen below this article.
The price is set to a monthly cost of $4.99 in the US and €3.99 in the EU. Players will be able to sign up using a credit card or a Paypal account. Origin Access can only be purchased through origin.com.
