Eurogamer 2012 - The Recap

By Stewart Marsh on 29/04/2024 21:49 UTC

So it’s been a week since I went to Eurogamer and I do apologize for how long it taken to write up the article things have been a little hectic as of late around here, however let’s start by covering the expo itself.

Here’s what happened on day 1 of Eurogamer.

After traveling for half an hour by train from a friends pub in surrey, to the expo and queuing for just less than an hour we finally go in, well every else did I got drug searched which was not the best start to the event. But it’s one of those things to laugh at, after being drug search and we go into the expo my first initial impression walking (well running) was this year’s expo looked amazing with the lighting and the different contrasts of games.

The managed to play a few games through-out the first day of Eurogamer, so here’s what I played and what I thought of each game.

Halo 4: Extremely impressive, well balanced since they have introduce classes. Environments look amazing well lighted throughout giving a sense of realism but staying true to the games generic feel, sound effects for the game have been revamped and sound amazing on the Tritton 5.1 headsets.

Overall 343 Industries has done an extremely impressive job with Halo 4 and the story will show the true light of the studio, however after previewing the third level to the story I can say I’m sitting here writing this being impatient for Halo 4 to be released on November 6th.

Crysis 3: I briefly played Crysis 3 and I can say playing it on the Xbox that they really have pushed the games engine to the max that the console can take and its visually stunning graphics have yet again stunned me with amazement, the gameplay of multiplayer defiantly feels a lot more balanced this time around. So it looks like Crytek has listened to its community when it came to Crysis 2’s Multiplayer not feeling right with bullet damage, Crysis 3 seems to have resolved that.

Day 2 of Eurogamer we spent majority of the day getting different interviews, and speaking to different industry reps for promotional gear, press contacts, we didn’t really get a chance to play any games on the second day. However our main priority was the get these contacts so we can provide more news on a regular basis, from official sources. Of course as well as providing you all with some content from Eurogamer, you can view our YouTube Playlist and pictures of the event over on our events page found here.
