The FAA is drafting new rules believed to ease the restrictions on electronic devices on air flights. Unfortunately for travellers, due to the processes involved to get these rules approved, they will not become law until probably the end of the first quarter of 2014. With so many electronic devices, and now study after study proving todays devices have no effect on airplane avionics as originally feared, the change in the law will be welcomed by many travellers who wish to watch movies, play games, read Facebook or Twitter, and other things on their hand held devices while on a long, boring flight.
