During its first ever E3 Media Briefing, Bethesda dropped a huge detail bomb (BOMB! SEE WHAT I DID THERE) on Fallout 4.
The biggest piece of information revealed was without a doubt the release date. Fallout 4 will launch on November 11th, 2015! "You've been waiting a long time...and we don't want you to have to wait too much longer" they said right before revealing the release date. Fallout 4 will release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition was also revealed. This will be the "definitive collectors edition" of Fallout 4 and will feature an actual "working" pip boy that you can wear on your wrist. The Pip Boy will have a slot you can input your phone into which will also act as a second screen for the game giving you updated stats and other in game perks.
Bethesda also revealed that Fallout 4 will have a "collect and build" system for players to build their own settlement in Fallout 4. As the player builds their settlement up, NPC's will gather in the town offering unique and sometimes exclusive items for sale or trade.
Character creation has also been given a massive facelift with the player being able to select what part of the face they want to change and then dragging around to change features. No more sliders or option menus. You will also be able to choose between a male or female player.
Fallout 4 was described as the most expansive, most open game they've ever created. The player will supposedly be able to go anywhere and do anything they like, whenever they like, expanding on the freedom of choice previously seen in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Weapon customization makes its debut in the Fallout seires with a (so far) confirmed 50 weapons and 700 modifications and upgrades to those weapons. For example, you can start off with something as simple as a rifle, add a scope, stock, and new barrel, and suddenly you have a powerful automatic sniper rifle.
It almost goes without saying that the game looks absolutely gorgeous. They've been working on the game since just after the release of Fallout 3 and the polish that has gone into every little detail really shows.
Bethesda knocked their press conference out of the park and came out swinging for the fences with Fallout 4. We will have more for you as E3 continues this week!
