Gears of War 4 will launch globally on October 11th, and will be an Xbox One exclusive, Microsoft announced in a blog post and the cover art was revealed via Entertainment Weekly.
The cover art shows off the games new trio; JD, Kait, and Del. The game will also reportedly feature cameos from past Gears' cast including Marcus Fenix. We already know that the game is set about 25 years after the original trilogy and that JD is Marcus' son. We also know that the whole game will take place over "one night in the woods".
According to Microsoft, toady's announcement is just the beginning of a "chain of upcoming revelations about what is in store for JD Fenix and the next generation of Gears heroes."
More great news for Gears fans, if you played the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, you will be able to access the beta of Gears 4's multiplayer! Xbox Live Gold members will be able to join in starting April 25th and the beta will run until May 1st.
Once again, Gears of War will release October 11th for Xbox One.
