Guitar Hero TV Shutting Down In December

Guitar Hero Live launched in 2015 to mediocre reviews across the board. While fans and critics praised the intent behind the game, changing up the familiar 5 button controller guitar for a 6 button scheme that played differently than any other game before it, the execution of said design was pretty terrible.

It comes as no surprise then, that the live service for Guitar Hero Live, known as Guitar Hero TV will be shutting down as of December 1st, 2018.

We want to thank you for being valued fans and let you know that as of December 1, 2018, the GHTV mode within Guitar Hero Live will no longer be available to play. On that date, we will terminate the service for GHTV and servers will be shut down. Console versions of the GH Live mode will continue to operate as usual.

The mobile versions of Guitar Hero Live are also being shut down and have been removed from the respective app stores for new downloads.

It really seems like this is the end of an era, the final nail in the coffin for the one time titan of of the rhythm game genre.

Again, Guitar Hero TV is shutting down its service on December 1st, 2018.
