Halo: The Master Chief Collection Tournament Cancelled

In a surprising move, Halo: The Master Chief Collection developer 343 Industries was forced to cancel an offical Halo tournament today after the Xbox One title ran into connectivity problems.

The issues were announced in a tweet (or a few tweets) by the official Halo account. 343 was said to be "looking into party joinabliity issues" and as a result, cancelled cup #1 of Season 2 in the Halo Championship Series which is the official Halo eSports league that runs in conjunction with the ESL.

This tournament cancellation is the latest issue in the long-standing saga of the Master Chief Collection woes for 343 Industries. Shortly after a disastrous launch in November of 2014, 343 announced that the Halo 3: ODST campaign would be made available for free to all MCC owners and Microsoft also offered a free month of its Xbox LIVE service to affected gamers.

It was also just last week that 343 released another patch for the game focused on ranking and matchmaking penalties as well as new improvements to each title in the game. The Halo 3: ODST and the new Relic multiplayer map remake are still slated to be released in May as part of the next big content update.
