With Halo 6 a ways away, Microsoft and 343 Industries have revealed some new Halo related news updates to tide fans over until a new entry is available as part of their Halo Summer Celebration.

The first impressive news is that Halo 5: Guardians will be getting an update this fall to feature native 4K resolution for the Xbox One X. More information and announcements about Halo 5 on Xbox One X will be revealed soon, according to 343, but Halo 5 now joins 30+ other titles also receiving 4K updates for Xbox One X.

They also revealed that 4 Halo titles will become backward compatible on Xbox One later this year as well. Halo Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4 will all hit the service in the coming months. The map packs for all four games will be available for free and the Xbox One backward compatible versions of the game will support full multiplayer via online play and LAN as well as LAN between Xbox One and Xbox 360's.

These announcements, coupled with the detailing of the latest in the Halo Wars 2 Season Pass (which adds new characters, and some slight new content) are all apart of what 343 is calling the Halo Summer Celebration. More in game events for Halo 5 will be revealed soon.

What do you think? Is the new content enough to hold you over until Halo 6 is officially revealed? Or are you waiting for a new title before jumping back into the fray?
