At E3 2016, we got to go hands on with the latest console version of Dungeons and Dragons MMO Neverwinter. Released on PC in 2013 and Xbox One in 2015, Neverwinter is finally coming to PS4.
Cryptic has done an incredibly great job bringing Neverwinter over to the PS4. After playing both the PC and Xbox One versions, I didn't think it could get much better. Boy was I wrong. They've refined the controls a bit and made them even more responsive than they were on the Xbox One which was a surprise but made me incredibly happy. Visually, the game looks better than ever with subtle lighting effects and shadows popping out at me here and there it really helped immerse me into the world I was playing in.
The fast paced Neverwinter combat is still there, and it feels right at home on a PS4. They haven't announced exactly how much content will be available at release on PS4, but they are aiming to have true console parity between the Xbox One and PS4 versions by the end of the year. New content will come first to PC and then a few weeks later to consoles. It's a delicate system balance but if anyone can pull it off, Cryptic can.
We're very excited to see what happens going forward with Neverwinter across all platforms and look forward to trying out this new version. Make sure you check out our developer interview below and let us know what you're excited for in the comments.
