Yes, that John Cena...

Well, this is weird. Nintendo have revealed that 16 time WWE Champion John Cena has teamed up with Nintendo to help promote the Nintendo Switch during one stop of their upcoming three stop Nintendo Switch promotional tour. Cena has been chosen, apparently, because of his athletic and acting ability which make him "...versitaile like the Switch itself."

Cena will be appearing at the first stop of the aforementioned Nintendo Switch promotional tour. He will appear at Blue Cloud Movie Ranch, California on February 23 to show off 1, 2 Switch. The next scheduled event will be held February 27 at the Snowmass ski resort in Aspen, and is designed to show how the Switch can be played anywhere, even on top of the mountain.

The third and final event will be held on March 3rd at Madison Square Park in New York. Mario and Luigi will be on hand to showcase the Switch as well.

Doug Bowser, the Nintendo of America Senior Vice President said:

“The upcoming launch of the unique Nintendo Switch console calls for a unique series of celebrations...These unexpected locations perfectly highlight the features of the new system, as well as provide one-of-a-kind surprise-and-delight moments that Nintendo does best.”

It sounds like Nintendo is trying to do this right this time around, and we really hope the strategy pays off for them. We will have full Nintendo Switch launch coverage starting next week.
