Logitech G430 Gaming Headset Review

From the first look, they look rather stylish with their black body and charming bright blue ear cups and pads. It has a steel band insert in the head band, and the cable is thin and braided with two 3.5mm jacks for your pc mic and headset jack; it also has an USB attachment for 7.1 surround sound. I found g430 to very light weight and really comfortable on the ears with the ability to rotate the ear cups and have them sitting on your shoulders.

Setting it up was very simple. Just download the software from the Logitech site, or if you already own a Logitech gaming product, then all you need to do is select the headset and adjust the controls to your liking.

I found with this headset, it was much easier to set up than say the Razer 7.1 surround sound headset. The problem I had with the Razer was that the program interfered with my sound settings. The headset is, for the most part, very comfy with the over the ear design that covers your whole ear to provide the full immersion to any game or environment that you in. The ear pads are very soft, as is the headband padding to add more comfort to the player, something that not most gaming headsets of today have sadly.

Now on to the negative aspects of the head set. While there were only a few, this was due to my own personal comfort. This may not be the case for everyone so don't let this put you off of buying the headset. First of all, the cable looks and feels like it could break quite quickly, and it knots up really easily while trying to put them away. Also the volume and mic controls are different than those on the Logitech G35 headset. When I put myself on mute people could still faintly hear me, or hear the cable being moved around.

Secondly, lightweight materials have been used in the construction of the headset so it seems like it could break easily if handled roughly.  But if you looking for a fairly decent gaming headset as well as using it to watch movies and listen to music then this is headset is for you.

In conclusion, although this headset is decent, I have seen some good headsets within the Logitech family that could offer better value for money. It has not only been me who had some concerns with this headset, other reviewers have stated this fact as well. But for a mid-ranged gaming headset such as this one it is bound to have some negatives.

So, if you’re looking for an entry to mid-level head set, this may be a match for you. It is currently on sale for around about £45.99 -£64.99. Check out some more information about the headset here with an option to direct purchase, although we recommend you look for alternative places for potentially cheaper prices.
