For years now, dozens of developers have spent hundreds of millions of dollars trying to crack the MMO enigma: how to compete with World of Warcraft. Now a small Swedish studio has found the answer. It's goats. And microwaves.
Coffee Stain's viral phenomenon has been admirably well supported with patches by a company who are probably a tad embarrassed to have made so much money from it, and this is the daddy of them all. Patch 1.2 is a free expansion adding a fantasy themed map, classes including 'Rogue', 'Magician' and 'Microwave', mermaids, farming robots and the odd dragon.
The trailer is jam packed with hints and cheeky swipes at its newfound competitors, so I'd advise just watching that. You won't have too long to wait, though: the patch goes live on November 20th. An Xbox One port of the game is also in the works, although no word yet as to whether it will be a 'GOATY', DLC inclusive edition.
