Neverwinter, Perfect World's free to play Dungeons and Dragons based MMO will hold its first Xbox One beta beginning in February. The closed beta will run three days from February 5th and players can sign up to participate on the Neverwinter website.
Perfect World says the Xbox One version of the game will use the Xbox LIVE friends list and "optimized controls" for the Xbox One controller. Neverwinter is currently set for an "Early 2015" launch and will remain Free-To-Play like its PC counterpart. An Xbox LIVE Gold subscription will be required to play.
The PC version of Neverwinter launched in 2013 and was met with almost universal acclaim. The newest expansion, Tyranny of Dragons launched mid 2014. The Xbox One version of Neverwinter is said to pack all of the features of the PC version into one package for the console. "Consoles are the perfect fir for action-oriented MMORPG's like Neverwinter" said Perfect World. "...We are thrilled to be one of the first publishers to bring premium free-to-play titles to leading next-gen platforms".
