If you grew up in the 80's one of the most essential science fiction movie that needed to be watched was ‘Back to the Future’. The first movie told of how a teenager Marty McFly went back in time by mistake to escape some terrorists, which Doc Brown promised to make a bomb for. Then he ends up interfering with his timeline and putting it straight. Then Marty returns to his timeline to find Doc Brown is still alive and the Doc did end up reading the letter that Marty gave him in the past and saved himself. If you haven't watched the movies yet shame on you and go now and watch it.
First of all if you like movie memorabilia and you live in San Jose, California, close to, or I guess anywhere, you might be interested in this. ScreenUsed is going to have three auctions this year. The first one is really big for Back to the Future fans as it will have memorabilia such as the guitar that was used to record the music from when Marty McFly tested out Doc Brown's massive speaker, as well as the guitar used when he played "Johnny B. Goode" at the dance. This auction will be held on March 15th, and needless to say that these will be sold to the highest bidder. The one-day only auction begins on, again, March 15th at promptly 10:00AM PST.
But it couldn't get any better you say. Well think again. If you remember the second movie, then you would remember the awesome shoes with the 'power laces'. Well Tinker Hatfield, Vice President for Design and Special Projects for Nike has confirmed that power-laced shoes like the ones in the movie would become a reality next year.
Most of those who have seen Nike's 2011 promotional 'Lost Scene' mini-movie 'Back For the Future', don't worry if you haven't just scroll down, which was made to promote an eBay auction of 1,500 pairs of Nike Mags to help out the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, may have found humor in the dialogue that Hatfield had about the shoes being available in 2015. However, there was a welcomed confirmation about the laces being available in 2015.
