Nintendo might have some explaining to do come January 12th, 2017. Eurogamer is reporting that leaked specs of the Nintendo Switch point to some huge sacrifices in power when the console is taken out of its dock. This is actually something that was a red flag for us way back when the trailer first launched.
The report states that the graphical processing unit on the Switch operates at a 40% lower clock speed than when it is docked. Developers will have the option to run their games on the slower configuration, even when the unit is plugged in to the dock, however. This raises some concerns in our eyes as developers could be having to develop two different versions of the same title as they have to do currently with the PS4 and PS4 Pro.
Its a hurdle Nintendo will have to clear if they want to continue the exictement the Switch has brought back to their brand. We'll see if they can do so in the new year.
