With the console officially releasing world-wide tomorrow, the Nintendo Switch’s eShop is up and running in anticipation for the console’s launch. There are a few surprise titles on the store too, which will please 1990’s arcade fans.
As of today’s day one patch going live we are able to see that so far, the eShop is sparsely populated but there are titles listed with their prices.
Two of the 1990's Neo Geo games will be released and can be purchased and downloaded from the Nintendo eShop tomorrow too: Neo Geo Shock Trooper and Neo Geo World Heroes Perfect, both of which are priced at £6.29.
Unfortunately, Nintendo have already confirmed that its Virtual Console will not be ready for the Switch’s launch day, nor will web browsing or basic video apps such as Netflix. The missing Virtual Console is probably the biggest missed opportunity yet for the Switch. The console launches tomorrow with only 12 games compared to the Wii U’s 23-game release day lineup
The titles that are currently on the eShop are:
-Super Bomberman R - £49.99
-Neo Geo Shock Trooper - £6.29
-Neo Geo World Heroes Perfect - £6.29
-Arms - TBD
-Mario Kart 8 - TBD
-Splatoon 2 - TBD
The day one patch also includes the ability to upload screenshots of gameplay to Facebook and Twitter but with Zelda: Breath of the Wild being the only major release title, I can assure you that all you’re gonna see for a few days will be landscape screenshots from that.
