On The Blue Seas With Don't Starve Expansion

Don't Starve is a survival game where you play as Wilson who has been kidnapped by a demon. Transported to a mysterious world filled with magic and science, you must gather resources and survive against supernatural monsters in a deadly wilderness. A couple of days ago, Klei Entertainment announced their newest expansion which is set to arrive on Steam Early Access on December 1st.

Improvements

In the new expansion, titled Don't Starve: Shipwrecked, you finally get to explore what lies outside the island you've been stranded on, which is something you haven't been able to do previously. Exactly what you can expect from your journey at sea remains unclear, but the developers promise that we will get to see the main character, Wilson, again along with some new playable characters. There are also some other content improvements mentioned, like new seasons, creatures, biomes, and many other exciting ways to die.

Not compatible with Don't Starve Together

In a previous forum update there is a little FAQ, which unfortunately states that this expansion will not be compatible with Don't Starve Together, which is their multiplayer expansion. This is apparently because the expansions were built separately from each other. They do however not exclude the possibility of a possible transition in the future.

When asked about a mobile or console version of the game, Klei says that they would love to but are currently focusing on making the PC version of the game as good as it can be.
