The first rendition of the Gratuitous Space Battles series, released in 2009 was well received by the public. Last year at EGX London, we interviewed Developer Cliff Harris the creator of Democracy 3 and of course, the original Gratuitous Space Battles, from ‘Positech Games’.
When we first interviewed Cliffski, we were told to expect a late 2014 release but when the time came, Cliff wasn’t happy enough with it for a Steam release. Earlier this year we went to EGX Rezzed and interviewed him again.
During the 20 months of development of the game, a complete redesign and re-adjustment of the graphics engine took place along with many changes and fixes based around making vast improvements on the original game.
The game features the ability to completely design your ships from scratch with Steam Workshop support to share and download creations. Additionally, there are Steam Trading Cards and 30 Steam Achievements with 5 supported languages.
The game playable on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X and is available to buy now, from Steam, Humble Store and directly from the developer.
