Current PlayStation 3 owners who have tried to live stream their gaming experience all know how much of a pain it can be to capture their console. Forcing them to drop from HDMI due to being HDCP copy protection to component. However Sony have said this will change with the PlayStation 4.
Of course you might think this will open up the console to allowing people to record movies, however this won’t be the case as Sony will most likely be following the same protocol as Microsoft does, disabling the HDCP during dashboard or games and re-enabling it for films preventing any piracy issues occurring.
