Resident Evil 7 Announced at Sony Press Conference

Upping the ante with the Resident Evil series, Capcom announced Resident Evil 7 at the E3 Sony press conference. This new installment will make use of Playstation VR and a new game engine, which is said to have a "photorealistic style" which delivers an "unprecedented level of immersion" that will likely have gamers across the world changing pants on a regular basis.

Although this is a step in a different direction for the series, previous REs have been subject to negative reviews. Since Resident Evil hit it's 20th anniversary this year, we're expecting something a little more cutting edge than what we've seen. Maybe a mix of old school with the combination of VR and a photorealistic engine? The sequel will be set in first-person to take advantage of the VR capability of the game. Playstation Plus users can download the Resident Evil 7 teaser known as Beginning Hour... now.
