After 6 years of waiting, a few days of teaser images, and countless rumors across every major video game convention for the past few years, Rockstar Games confirmed today that Red Dead Redemption 2 is real, and will release Fall of 2017.
According the the games new landing page, the sequel to Red Dead Redemption is "an epic tale in the life of America's unforgiving heartland." Just before the announcement, it was also revealed by some investigative gamers that Take-Two had registered the domain "RedDeadOnline.com" but as of this writing, it redirects to the Rockstar Newswire page. The official Red Dead Redemption 2 website states that "the game's vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience." Given the massive popularity of GTA Online, this isn't surprising. But it does leave one to wonder whether or not they will go full scale open world multi player, or whether they will simply have team-death match and other game modes like the original game had.
A trailer will be released this Thursday, October 20th and we will have the latest from the trailer as soon as we get our hands on it...and stop drooling over it...
The only other information we have available is that the game will release on PS4 and Xbox One. No PC port has been revealed yet, much to the disappointment of many fans, but Rockstar usually takes their time porting titles to the PC anyways.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will release Fall 2017 on Xbox One and PS4. Stay tuned to Senshudo for more on this exciting announcement as we get it.
