Its safe to say at this point that the re-launched Tomb Raider series has been a success for Square Enix. With the first two entries in the rebooted series selling and reviewing fairly well. It should come as no surprise then, that Square Enix have announced the third game in the rebooted franchise, Shadow of the Tomb Raider for Xbox One, PC, and PS4 with a release date of September 14th.
The game will launch on all platforms at once, rather than an Xbox One timed exclusive like the previous two titles. Square Enix have said that the game is shaping up to be "Lara Croft's defining moment as she becomes the Tomb Raider..." but few other details are available about the title at this time. A "full reveal" of the game is slated for April 27th and series fans can get their hands on the title early by signing up for three separate fan events on the Square Enix website.
A teaser trailer has been released (which can be seen below) to tide fans over until the reveal in April. The timing of the announcement couldn't be more perfect for Tomb Raider fans, with the release of the new Tomb Raider film coming March 16th.
Again, Square Enix have announced Shadow of the Tomb Raider for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 with a release date of September 14th. We'll bring you the latest as we get it.
