Sid Meier is at it again. Sid Meier's Starships was revealed as the latest game from the mind of the Civilization designer. Starships will be an interstellar turn based strategy game and will release in early 2015.
Starships is slated to release on PC, Mac, and iOS platforms. No Android version has been announced at this time, nor has pricing of the title.
In Starships, you control a fleet of starships as you complete various missions and protect planets and their inhabitants as well as build a planetary federation. You'll also be challenged to expand your federations influence and reach as in past Meier titles. Your character will also amass loads of futuristic technology and fight your way through a massive turn based combat system.
"When esigning Starships, I was intruiged by the idea of exploring the next chapter in the story of Civilization: Beyond Earth." Meier revealed in a statement. "What happens after we colonize our new home and eventually build starships to take to the stars? What has become of our long-lost brothers and sisters from the planet Earth?" The answers to these questions and more will likely be revealed in Starships.
2K also teased that Beyond Earth and Starships will have cross-connectivity for those who own both games. No specifics were revealed, but the idea sounds amazing.
We will have more on Sid Meier's Starships as soon as we can!
