Sony Being Sued over Killzone: Shadow Fall Graphics

Sony is currently facing a lawsuit over “deceptive marketing” from California resident Douglas Ladore. Douglas is currently suing Sony for $5m (£3m) because he believes the graphics for Killzone: Shadow Fall’s multiplayer mode doesn’t run at the full 1080p resolution as advertised.

The legal action has been filed by law firm Edelson PC in the Northern District California Court, the firm behind the separate lawsuit against Sega over its 2013 game Aliens Colonial Marines.

Developer Guerilla says on its website that a technical shortcut is used to achieve a high definition effect, which is known as "temporal reprojection".

The developer has since filed a motion to strike the case out, replacing it with a more “accurate” version.

Court documents state: “Unfortunately, Sony’s marketing and on-box representations turned out to be nothing more than fiction.”
