Hato Moa and Eric Scarecrow have teamed up to create a Kickstarter event to seek funding for creating plush toys based on three of the romanceable characters in Hatoful Boyfriend. The campaign began on November 3rd and asked for $25.000 in funding to create these limited edition plush toys. The project got funded within it's first 24 hours on the site, and they even hit their first stretch goal in under 48 hours.
If you happen to be unfamiliar with the game, Hatoful Boyfriend is a text-based visual novel where almost all of the characters, except the player, are birds. The player character has been invited as the human ambassador to the prestigious school, St. Pigeonation’s. The game has multiple endings, and it's up to the player to make the right choices to hopefully reach their preferred ending, and of course romancing their preferred avian along the way.
The goal of the project is to create 5" stuffed plush toys based on the characters of Ryouta Kawara, Shuu Iwamine and Okosan. Each plush will include a hang-tag and a PVC character keychain of the character's human form (with the exception of Okosan as he's eternally in bird-form). The lowest pledge needed if you want to get your hands on any of these plush toys are $16, and the pledges range all the way up to $1000.
The Hatoful Boyfriend Official Plush Project toys are expected to ship out in May 2016.
