When Star Wars 1313 was announced at E3 2012, fans of the Star Wars series cried out with joy at the visually impressive looking title that centered around a young Boba Fett and his adventures. Millions of those fans cries were suddenly silenced when the game was swiftly cancelled a few months later. While the game may have died a quick death, its story, apparently has not. Not in the minds of Disney executives anyways.
Speaking to SlashFilm, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy said that "the studio hasn't forgotten about the project... Our attitude is, we don't want to throw any of that stuff away. Its gold... And its something we're spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to."
So what does this mean? Could we see Star Wars 1313 after all? It seems highly unlikely, at least as fans have seen so far. It could be told via many other mediums, and the possibilities are exciting. Especially with Disney taking some cues from the EU, even with most of the expanded universe becoming part of "Legend Status".
One thing we know for sure, its an exciting time to be a Star Wars fan, of any medium, be it games, films, comics, or books. We will just have to wait and see what the future holds!
