EA announced today that to coincide with the release of Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Star Wars Battlefront will release in December. While the exact date hasn't been pinned down yet, the news is a welcome for fans of the series who have been waiting since it was teased at E3 in 2013.
The game will apparently differ from the previous two versions of Battlefront titles (Star Wars: Battlefront -- Released in 2004, and Star Wars: Battlefront 2 -- Released in 2005) with players once again taking sides in the all out galactic war of The Rebellion vs The Empire. Players can expect to handle a wide variety of vehicles this time around as well including the speeder bikes from Episode VI, Snowspeeders, and an AT-ST. It was also previously shown that some of the battles could very well be renactments of scenes from the original trilogy but who knows what DICE has thrown in based off of Episode VII. Whatever awaits us in December, we're all very excited.
