If you’re an avid Steam user, you might have noticed already but Valve has pushed out a brand new look to the Steam Store, brandishing new functionalities and better optimisations.
Users will immediately notice the new look to the Steam store with its brighter and cleaner look. The update is called “The Discovery Update 2.0” with an aim to be faster and easier to use- making finding what is more important to you much easier.
Valve’s blog post lists all new features and changes that have been made in this recent update. Some of the newest and most useful features includes a list of recently viewed games, what’s trending with your friends, as well as having the option to filter out what you don’t want to see. Finally, we’re able to hide certain types of content from the store, including movies, early access games, and non-gaming software.
Monday’s store update also does a better job of deciding which games to recommend to you. Valve’s new logic system now has a better idea of "what to show based on your playtime, what your friends recommend, what curators you follow, and more." In addition to this, the store now offers places to highlight games that have recently been updated and games that have been recommended by curators.
It's clean, smooth, and fast. The Steam store is now easier and quicker to navigate than ever.
This new and updated look to the Steam Store has come only a week after about the announcement that developers must now provide in-game screenshots for their games’ store pages. This has followed the controversy regarding No Man’s Sky’s advertising “scandal.”
