TennoCon 2017 has come and gone and with it, huge news for popular Free-to-Play action game Warframe! The second annual event brought together more than 2,000 attendees to London, Ontario and allowed independent developer Digital Extremes to make a charitable donation of $150,000 to Covenant House Toronto, which is a Canadian 501(C)(3) organization that shelters homeless and trafficked youths.
TennoCon Livestreams can be found on the Warframe Twitch Channel, but we have the highlights for you right here!
The Digital Extremes team debuted the first gameplay footage of the upcoming expansion, Plains of Eidolon, which will change the way players can interact with each other in massive ways.
For the first time in Warframe history, Tenno will have the freedom to explore, fight, journey and fly through the open Landscapes of Planet Earth in their own time, in their own way. Stepping into the rolling Plains of Eidolon, players will experience a rich landscape populated with both familiar and never-before seen creatures, enemies, a new Warframe, stunning vistas lit with a day/night cycle, and a gripping story told through interactive NPC characters who inhabit the bustling scavenger colony of Cetus. In Plains of Eidolon, players will set foot in a natural landscape with the freedom to explore it on their own terms.
A brand new Warframe, Hydroid Prime will finally be available to players after being first unveiled in 2014. This was revealed during the Warframe Art panel and that players will be given access to Hydroid Prime "soon". Hydroid is described as a "master of the seas, commanding them to pull his enemies into a watery grave".
New weapons like the Ballisitca Prime Nami and Skyla Prime were announced. A new set of armor, PRIMED Armor, was also revealed and can be found in a Warframe Bundle, the games microtransaction crate system.
