The Elder Scrolls Online - Morrowind Announced

By AJ Hanson on 29/04/2024 21:52 UTC

The Elder Scrolls Online sure has become "The Little MMO that could", fighting off challenge after challenge since launch to become a pretty nice Freemium MMO. Todays announcement, however, might be the biggest thing to come to ESO since launch.

The Elder Scrolls Online - Morrowind launches June 6th, 2017.

This June, the next Chapter in The Elder Scrolls Online will begin. Return to the iconic island of Vvardenfell for over 30 hours of adventure in a brand new location, with a new class, a new PvP mode, a new Trial, and so much more.

This is the first major expansion to ESO after four DLC packs that added fan favorite content like The Thieves Guild.

"The fat of Morrowind hangs in the balance and you must take up the mantle of a hero to help Vivec, the legendary warrior poet and Guaridan of Vvardenfell, save the world from a deadly Daedric threat." The press release reads. The new expansion will be set 700 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and promises to take players to familiar locations from Morrowind.

If you already own ESO, you can upgrade your game for an additional charge and jump into the gameplay upon launch on June 6th. New players will also be able to head straight to Morrowind and play with anyone at any level. The new expansion will also come with the base game, so new players can purchase one box and have the full ESO experience.

The newest class, and the first new class since the launch of the game, is the Warden class which "wields powerful nature-based magic and, true to Elder Scrolls franchise, can be customized with a number of abilities to suit any playstyle."

Four different editions of Morrowind will be available at launch: The Standard Edition, The Upgrade Edition, The Digitial Collectors Edition, and the Physical Collectors Edition.

A pre-order has been launched for the game and bonuses are already available for those who choose to do so.

Pre Order Bonuses are as follows:

  • Exclusive Warden costume – a costume for all classes that matches the Warden's outfit, as seen in the announcement trailer above
  • Dwarven War Dog – a unique armored (non-combatant) in-game pet
  • Treasure Maps – maps detailing the location of Vvardenfell's greatest rewards
  • Dwarven Crown Crate – a special Crown Crate that gives you the chance to receive Dwarven-themed mounts, pets, costumes and more
  • Experience Scrolls – advance through Vvardenfell, gaining 50% more experience for two hours

We are excited to see what this brings to the world of The Elder Scrolls Online when it launches June 6th, 2017.
