The Pip-Boy device should be well known to all Fallout fans by now. With Fallout 4 right around the corner, Bethesda have released their own free Pip-Boy app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. The app is currently a limited version, since Fallout 4 isn't released until November 10th.
The plan is that the app will be connected to the main game, regardless of platform. This will make it possible to check your stats, inventory, map from the app while you play your game, or even when you're not playing. You do not need to own the Pip-Boy edition of the game to be able to use the app. Initially you will get access to several screens in the companion app, although most of those will be predetermined and can not be edited. Despite the fact that the full map is open, there's only a marker for Vault 111. The app also features a mini game, the holotape game known as Atomic Command.
Announced earlier this year
Fallout 4 was initially announced in the beginning of June this year, but it was first during E3 that we got a proper look at the game. As it's predecessor the game will be a sandbox style game, except this time we will be visiting Boston. This will also be the first time Bethesda officially offer modsupport for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 - which is scheduled to happen some time next year.
