Today, EA's The Sims 4 received a free update that had no announcement in advance. What makes this update stand out from the many other updates for this game, is that today's update removes the gender barriers in the game.
While this update isn't pleasing everyone, it is definitely considered a great milestone for The Sims as a game series. This means that as of today, everyone who plays The Sims 4 will be able to customize their sims without the gender boundaries that have previously existed in this game and all it's predecessors. This includes physique, walk style, tone of voice along with clothing, hair, jewelry and other visual options. The change applies to both content from the base game and any previously launched expansion or stuff packs.
Looking at the official Sims forum, it's easy to see that while many players are saluting EA and Maxis for introducing this update, there are also a good handful of people claiming this as both offensive and harassing. However, us good folks at Senshudo, welcome this update with open arms and hope that other game companies choose to follow this example in the future!
