The Witness, Jonathan Blow's newest adventure, is set to release for PC and PlayStation 4 on the 26th of January. The game has been in development for quite a long time already, and what we've seen so far looks gorgeous.
There has so far not been any mentions about an Xbox One version but the game has now been rated by ESRB, which suggests that the content is complete enough for it's content to be reviewed. Considering how the game's predecessor Braid was a huge success on Xbox Live Arcade, it seems natural that The Witness is headed for an Xbox release too, despite the initial signs of the game being a Playstation exclusive.
Out of interest, the game has been rated E for Everyone with some very mild references to alcohol in the dialogue. That's in line with the ratings on the other platforms as well.
There has still not been any official announcements, but it's fair to expect a confirmation or a denial of these rumours within the next few days.
Update: Jonathan Blow tweeted that there are no current plans about an Xbox One version, the rating was requested now to avoid having to get the game re-rated in the future. So bad news for Xbox One players this time around, but hopefully they will change their minds and let the game arrive at the platform in the future.
There are no plans right now for an XB1 version of The Witness. We just put that on the rating form so if we ever do XB1, we won't have
