Titanfall Developers Working On New Action Adventure

By Elisabeth Elvestad on 29/04/2024 21:51 UTC

We have already known for a while that Respawn Entertainment is working on a sequel for the Titanfall game. What we haven't heard as much about is the fact that they are also working on a brand new IP on the side.

What we already knew is that there are two studios working with two different projects under Respawn, the remaining details have been unclear. However, a job listing at Gamasutra does give us a more clear idea for what we can expect. The listing states that they are looking for designers for two game development projects, one being the new Titanfall game and the other a third person action/adventure IP.

It is difficult to predict what exactly this new game will be, but one small detail might be worth mentioning: Stig Asmussen, the director behind God of War III, joined up with the studio back in June, 2014. We do not know for sure what exactly he is working on, but it's not unthinkable that he may be involved with this new IP.

In fact, we do not know too much for sure when it comes to Titanfall 2 either. So far we've been told that Respawn Entertainment aims to launch the game for more than one console and that it may be launched as early as 1st of April this year, although this is very unlikely. Their lips have been mostly sealed about what we can expect, but they have promised to expand the lore. It's also likely that they will not use the same DLC model as the Respawn Founder and CEO Vince Zampella has been quoted in saying it was "messy".
